2011 Audi R8 GT
Greetings Audi fans, auto-philes and connoisseurs of all things beautiful, fast and ridiculously expensive!! The rumor that has been floating around about a limited edition souped up version of the already powerful R8 is in fact the truth. It comes to you by way of the lighter, dressed up, no non-sense R8 GT. The Audi engineers have put their exotic on a special diet that has trimmed it's weight down by 220lbs, reducing it to a gross of only 3,582lbs. Thanks in part by chucking the "heavier" rear glass window and windshield for thinner, stronger polycarbonate structures, pounds were shed. This was also achieved by the use of light weight carpeting, thinner sheet metal body panels, a rear hatch with fixed wing, carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) bumpers and a glass-reinforced plastic structure for the bucket seats.
They didn't stop there though, the engine was also modified to put out 560HP and 398lb-ft of torque at 6500 revolutions. Zero to sixty time is 3.6s with a claimed top speed of 198.9MPH. This is what you sign up for provided you were one of the 333 customers that paid northwards of the $198,000 sticker price! Available only in the 4 color lineup is Suzuka Gray metallic, Samoa Orange metallic, Phantom Black, and Ice Silver metallic, here are some pictures below to show you what we're talking about.
